Create a new workshop modeled after the one you read about to appropriately reflect First Nation's values without exploiting FN traditional ceremonies.


The medicine wheel teachings offers healing, personal growth and peaceful interaction. It's like a mirror to look inside yourself & analyze different situations no matter how painful they may be. If businesses can adopt this type of outlook then decision making and the business environment would run so much smoother. Instead of performing the actual ceremony to reflect the First Nation's values of the medicine wheel, a presentation could be made to outline the basics of it and the background to appropriately reflect the values without exploiting it.

Professionalism & Personal connections

I believe personal connections are very important when it comes to professionalism. Connections will open doors for you that might not have been available without any connections. Getting to know more people outside of your friendship circle builds relationships that can lead to numerous chances of furthering your career, helping with school, etc.

Having connections with teachers, in my opinion, can be beneficial. It helps to make the classroom time more relaxed and enjoyable. You are more likely to express opinions and speak out during class if you feel comfortable with your instructor. It's also important to feel comfortable approaching your teachers when you have a question, concern or problem. Connections with teachers can also be beneficial outside of school. If you need a reference for a job or something, your teacher can give you a good reference if you have a good connection with them.

Economic Development

Economic Development seeks to improve the economic well being and quality of life for the community. It involves making changes to promote growth.

What I expect from myself.

I expect myself to learn as much as I can about entrepreneurship and Aboriginal business. It could be something I am interested in pursuing in the future so I might as well get the knowledge now.

Professionalism

To me professionalism refers to an individual who has obtained specialized training in a specific field of work. A professional lives up to the criteria and ethics required of them for the profession chosen. Good work habits and behaviour are very important, in my opinion, when it comes to professionalism. One should have motivation and interest to do the job and keep his or her attitude positive even when challenges come along.

First

Setting this up was easier than I thought it would be. I have never blogged before so this is all new to me. I think this class is going to be really fun and interesting. I'm excited to get started with everything.
